Kababish

Now, where do you go if you are craving for authentic Moghlai cuisine? Thanks to Kababish there is finally a place in Vadodara where you can savour the real taste of Mughlai food. Hard to spot and what looks like a dukaan from the outside, Kababish surely surprises you from the inside. The tastefully designed interiors served the purpose of appetizers in my case. Transporting me to my Hyderabad days, the décor and menu really set my expectations high for Kababish. And, I can safely say that by the end of my foodventure, I was a not disappointed.

The benefit of eating out at a small place is an intimate dining experience. That is what Kababish offered to me and my friends. While the extensive menu can leave you bemused, Asif – the owner, is a delightful aide to help choose what to order. I hate it when I ask the waiter/chef for their suggestions on what to order and am posed with a generic reply of ‘safe dishes’ or the ubiquitous ‘everything on the menu is nice’. Unlike that, Asif not only helps suggest but is also open to the idea customizing the dishes as per your taste.

Talking about taste, the Kebabs and Biryani I tried at Kababish wooed my taste buds. One thing I look for while eating Non-Veg is freshness of the meat. I detest frozen meat. Gladly, the meat at Kababish was much to my liking – fresh and well done. All in all, good food, great company and the inviting interiors made for a happy burping foodventure for me.

A personal poll

Food: Authentic

Portioning: Ideal

Service: Great

Ambience: Tasteful and inviting – However, it’s a very small place.

Value for Money: Good

A meal for two would cost around Rs. 800

For authentic Mughlai taste, I’d give Kababish:

4 Dakaars!
